Profile

Luke Kennedy is an associate with Foulston’s transactional and business law practice group in the firm’s Wichita office. Luke assists clients in the execution of contracts and entity formation documents, and through his research on the changing corporate legal landscape and the novel issues that arise from those changes.

Luke received his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law. During law school, Luke served as editor-in-chief of The Journal of Corporation Law, the oldest student-run journal focused on corporate law. Engaging with scholarship added to the experience he gained from coursework in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, secured transactions, securities regulation, and corporate taxation, among others. In addition to his coursework and extracurricular involvement, Luke was a research assistant assigned to research and edit scholarship focused on the interplay between legal systems and mass atrocities. During his first summer in law school, Luke interned for the Honorable Willie J. Epps, Jr., at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, where he conducted research, attended civil and criminal proceedings, and observed mediations. As a Foulston summer associate, Luke obtained experience in a variety of practice areas including real estate, litigation, government affairs, and entity formation.

Outside his law practice, Luke enjoys spending time at the dog park with his labradoodle and Doberman, cooking (to varying degrees of success), and cheering on the Wildcats, Chiefs, and Royals. He also enjoys keeping up with international news and economics, and has been published several times in the Wall Street Journal’s Future View.
