1930 - 2024

Foulston Siefkin LLP is very saddened to announce the passing of our dear friend, pioneering litigator, and partner, Robert L. Howard.

Bob, a resident of Wichita, Kansas, died at the age of 93 on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Bob received his bachelor’s degree from Emporia State in 1952 and his law degree from the University of Kansas in 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy and attended Navy Post-Graduate School. Bob practiced law at Foulston for more than 60 years and was elected as a Fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. He was the founding chairman of the Historical Society of the Tenth Judicial Circuit. The University of Kansas School of Law honored Bob as a Distinguished Alumnus, and the Kansas Bar association recognized him with its Outstanding Service Award.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Joanne, four daughters and a son (Susan Elrick, Sally Fisher, Shari McMinn, Sandra Burner, Steve Howard), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will deeply miss Bob’s fierce loyalty to the firm, utter devotion to legal excellence, comprehensive recall of firm history, quiet smile, and abiding faith.
