Profile

Mr. Goering works principally in commercial litigation. He has handled a variety of class action lawsuits, as well as other complex commercial disputes involving oil and gas and other issues. He also frequently advises clients regarding non-litigation oil and gas issues and other types of commercial disputes. He has handled lawsuits involving trademark and patent issues and frequently advises clients regarding intellectual property issues. Over the years, he has also handled several litigation matters emanating from trusts and estates, and he has advised clients in the areas of estate planning and trusts and estates. Mr. Goering enjoys Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory’s highest “AV” rating for lawyers and was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© and Benchmark Litigation. In 2011 he was recognized by Best Lawyers® as the Wichita Construction “Lawyer of the Year,” in 2012 the Wichita Copyright “Lawyer of the Year,” in 2013, 2016 and 2018, the Wichita Energy “Lawyer of the Year,” and in 2014 and 2017 the Wichita Litigation – Intellectual Property “Lawyer of the Year.” Mr. Goering is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.

Relevant Experience

During the 1980's Mr. Goering served as Special Master to the United States District Court for the District of Kansas, and to two Kansas State District Courts regarding class action lawsuits which involved claims by producers and royalty owners for helium produced in the Hugoton Gas Field in Southwest Kansas.
