Protecting Your “Stuff”: How to Keep Your Information Safe
You’ve got stuff. You’ve got other people’s stuff. Your stuff is valuable. You don’t want anything to happen to your stuff. Spend an hour covering a variety of legal tools available that help us keep our stuff safe, from trade secrets acts to data privacy rules. Topics which may be covered (time permitting) include updates regarding:
- The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and recent appellate decisions limiting its scope
- Uniforms Trade Secrets Act and Defend Trade Secrets Act
- Data privacy and cybersecurity laws and guidelines
- Nondisclosure and noncompetition agreements
- Handling of electronically stored information
This program has been approved for 1.1 hour of continuing legal education (CLE) credit for attorneys in Missouri and is pending in Kansas.
We will submit Kansas CLE credit for attendees who noted they need it in registration after verifying full-time attendance and participation in the live webinar session. Missouri is self-reporting. Due to the webinar format, attendees who wish to receive CLE credit must (1) attend the webinar's live presentation, (2) attend individually on their own device using the link received in registration, and (3) participate by answering the poll question or entering the chat code displayed during each hour of the program. Registrants who join the live webinar with a group or other person on a shared device are not eligible for CLE credit.
