2006 HIPAA CHECK-UP

Just as the annual physical exam plays a key role in maintaining good health, our 2006 HIPAA Check-up will help you identify areas for improvement in your organization’s HIPAA compliance strategy. With the publication of the HIPAA enforcement regulation earlier this year, health care providers and employers that sponsor group health plans must remain vigilant to prevent unauthorized disclosures of protected health information, violations of administrative requirements, and security incidents.

Our afternoon workshop will provide practical advice concerning issues you face every day, not technical discussions on the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules’ requirements. We’ll highlight the latest government guidance on the regulations. HIPAA Check-Up will include an opportunity to discuss your toughest HIPAA questions with knowledgeable legal counsel and colleagues with similar concerns.

When and Where The Seminar Will Be Held?

Our workshop will be offered on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in Wichita, Kansas, at the Wichita Airport Hilton. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. The session will start at 1:00 p.m. and conclude at 4:30 pm.

HIPAA Check-Up is geared to those persons who have been assigned responsibility in their organization for compliance with the HIPAA Privacy & Security Rules, including privacy and security officers, HIM specialists, human resource and payroll professionals, and benefit managers.

Who Will Be Presenting?

Martie Ross, a partner in the firm’s Wichita office, is the author of the Foulston Siefkin HIPAA Privacy & Security Rule Implementation Handbooks for Health Care Providers and Employee Health Plans. She has assisted hundreds of organizations with their HIPAA compliance programs. Mrs. Ross has made dozens of presentations concerning the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules to organizations across the state, including the Kansas Hospital Association, the Kansas Medical Group Management Association, the Wichita Chamber of Commerce, the Kansas Health Information Management Association, the Kansas Risk and Quality Managers Association, the Kansas Association of Community Mental Health Providers, the Kansas Home Care Association, the Kansas Association of Counties, the Kansas Association of Hospital Patient Account Managers, and the Kansas and Wichita Bar Associations.
